Shade Grown
You peek through the tiniest of my windows for judgment
Then you leave toting my echo
Sweet discreet you
Showed me just what a grudge meant
You’ve cleaved to my fumbling from the get go
Look at persnickety you
Trying to pin down rickety me
Oh watch me be
I bloom when I’m the farmer and the farm
I like to dig in my own dirt and swat at my own swarms
But when you tiptoe in to till my shy will
Just comes to harm
You came to me limping with frustration
So you took a sifter to the dunes of my
Imagination
I tried to attend to your grueling catechism
But my poise was diffracted by your
Persecuting prism
I bloom when I’m the farmer and the farm
I like to dig in my own dirt and swat at my own swarms
But when you tiptoe in to till my shy will
Just comes to harm
Oh watch me be
Linz apartment hotels Oh watch me watch me be
Take your scouring stethoscope off of me
I bloom when I’m the farmer and the farm
I like to dig in my own dirt and swat at my own swarms
But when you tiptoe in to till my shy will
Just comes to harm
I used to hoard retorts
The cunning sport
For li’l miss remiss
Now my wit has subsided
And our interests have collided
It is cold & narrow this—
To be shade grown
