"I was able to work at my own pace, and i was able to create my own original jewelry which made it very fun.  I learned a lot at Kazumi Art and I am glad I have met the teachers there."  Ayako Fukai  (former student at Kazumi Art)

In 1974 Kazumi Art was founded in Los Angeles by Mrs. Kazumi Takakura, a young jewelry designer from Japan.  It was just the right time to start her career as a jewelry designer because the first jewelry mart was built at the heart of downtown Los Angeles, where over 500 diamond dealers, manufacturers, wholesalers, stone setters, stone cutters and watch dealers engaged in the jewelry industry.  Then, the California Jewelry Mart became the center of the jewelry trade in the west coast, as it triggered the booming of jewelry and design to the public.

In the meanwhile, Kazumi began to learn new techniques of wax carving that has been eagerly desired by people that needed mass-production of jewelry to supply to the market for big demand from the public.  After her great effort to improve and to renovate skills of wax carving, she is now recognized as one of the best wax carvers among jewelers not only in Los Angeles but throughout the U.S.

In 1985, she started to teach how to design, render, and carve wax to designers, manufacturers, jewelers, and hobbyists.  Many of the graduates from Kazumi Art are now powerfully working in the jewelry industry with the skill they acquired from Kazumi Art.

One of our most distinguished work among tens of thousands of designing and wax carving projects in when we designed and manufactured some of the famous Walt Disney characters for rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, and pins which were sold at Disney Stores in the U.S. and Japan.

In 1999, we opened the class under the name of CIJT at Kazumi Art as one of the branch of CIJT (California Institute of Jewelry Training), whose headquarters in located near Sacramento, CA.

Who could benefit from learning under Kazumi Art?  They are designers, jewelers, manufacturers, store owners, customizing personnel's, sales associates, hobbyists and more.

Kazumi Art's school program is growing rapidly everyday and we strongly urge you to come visit us and ask us questions while we will give you a strong definite answer.
